The fixture moved for the first time to Peterborough Milton, a decision which proved popular with all players. The course was fair and very well presented and the catering was spot-on.
We were defending the Beamish Trophy recently superbly refurbished by Robby Boyce. At lunch we were just one hole down, but the younger lads from the RAF played better in the afternoon to win overall by 7 holes, which over 360 holes counts as a narrow victory. Ian Robinson had various problems getting 10 fit players but Jose Zarata and Paul Martin came up trumps.
We return to Peterborough next year and hope this becomes a long-term venue.
