Rye Golf ClubSunday 2nd August 2026 Match: 10 a-side RAFGS vs Rye Golf Club Format: 36 holes Foursomes Matchplay The opportunity to play golf at Rye Golf Club is one not to be missed. The golf course itself is a fine example of a links golf course but it is the sense of tradition which makes this such a unique setting. Only two-ball golf is allowed and the tradtional Rye golfing day consists of two rounds of foursomes, with an excellent lunch enjoyed between the two rounds. Our match against the club is in keeping with this tradition - two rounds of foursomes and an excellent lunch! However, there is much more to Rye than history and a good lunch - the members are extremely friendly and generous hosts and the course itself offers a good challenge, perhaps best understood by the saying that the hardest shots at Rye are the second shots to the Par 3s. The number of players per side has varied in recent years from 8 to 12, but Match Manager Kevin Burston will always try to include those who have not had the opportunity to play at Rye before. If you are travelling from some distance, the Dormy House accommodation is excellent and includes breakfast, while the nearby town of Rye has numerous pubs and restaurants for your evening meal.
